Tim, an ambitious young entrepreneur, dreams of launching a restaurant franchise in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, partnering with Maki, a brilliant yet hot-headed chef. Maki is initially reluctant to entertain Tim's plans to secure a deal with a prominent investor. However, when Tim uncovers the secret behind Maki's famous sambal petai, he finds himself in a dilemma, caught between the temptation to profit from the recipe and his commitment to his newfound friend.
