While getting ready to bring slum landlord Kyle Vance to justice, Alex has a vivid vision of a red-haired woman haunting the dilapidated tenement. During her testimony, she feels an overwhelming urge to demand that the judge order Vance to reside in the building until he finishes the necessary repairs. Afterward, Alex comes to the unsettling realization that a dark force influenced her behavior, prompting her to investigate the building’s sorrowful past. Troubled by her discoveries, she returns to confront the malevolent presence that has taken root in Vance’s deteriorating family legacy.
