Sixteen-year-old Joan Girardi encounters an individual who asserts he is God. He presents her with a task: find employment. Meanwhile, her father, Will Girardi, who has recently taken on the role of chief of police in Arcadia, is determined to crack the case of a serial murderer terrorizing their town.
