S5E9 Hired Wife

Bill Connor, a businessman, presents an unexpected proposal: he’s unmarried but is feigning a marriage to secure a promotion, needing someone to play the role of his fictitious wife at an upcoming executive event. Kate is intrigued by his stance against discrimination based on marital status and agrees to help. However, she finds herself drawn to Peter, who is actually one of Bill’s colleagues. The charade takes an unexpected turn when Bill discovers the promotion was never an option, as the company is looking externally for candidates. Frustrated, he resigns, allowing Kate the freedom to pursue Peter.
