After spending the entire family's Christmas savings on a gift for himself, Homer comes to terms with his selfishness. In an effort to change, he transforms into the kindest person in Springfield, going out of his way to help others. However, his newfound generosity sparks jealousy in Ned Flanders, who can’t help but feel overshadowed by Homer’s sudden popularity and goodwill.
