S1E1 The Guards

Jack Taylor, an unapologetic brute, finds himself ousted from the Garda after being accused of brutality against a government official. With a bit of experience, some connections, and low rates, he unofficially embarks on a career as a private investigator, aided by his equally unruly friend, painter Sutton. When Anne Henderson comes to him, claiming her missing teenage daughter may be a victim of a string of dubious 'suicides,' Jack begins to dig deeper. His investigation leads him to sleazy manager Ford’s factory and a web of illicit sex tapes, revealing only the surface of a much darker conspiracy. Things take a turn for the worse when Jack suffers a brutal beating and old pub owner Sean is tragically killed in an accident.
