Despite Dr. Gordon's explicit orders, Albert decides to take Black Beauty out for a ride, leading the doctor to prohibit both him and Kevin from riding the horse without prior consent. This disagreement causes a rift between the boys, prompting Albert to visit the Grainger farm, where he claims to be a skilled trainer. His credibility is put to the test when he climbs aboard a wild stallion known for its dangerous temperament.
