Elaine joins Alan's poker nights, causing him to feel uneasy. Meanwhile, David starts a job at Brandon's pool maintenance company but inadvertently hurts Brandon by admitting he's ashamed to share his true job with his parents. Additionally, Brandon encounters Amy's boyfriend, Jared (John Ross Bowie), which deepens his unresolved feelings for Amy.
