DI Kate Ashurst and DS Emma Scribbins probe the enigmatic death of wealthy socialite Nikki Pengelly. Her heartbroken fiancé, Ralph, points the finger at Nikki's infatuated ex-husband, Gavin. However, as the investigation unfolds, the detectives uncover connections to the Applejacks dating agency, operated by Redmond Appleby and his wife Maxine, as well as a school-themed disco event. Complicating matters further, Ralph’s resentful ex-girlfriend, Hazel, suddenly disappears, adding another layer of mystery to the case.
