The announcement of the Boundary Award sparks fury on both sides. In a state of panic, many minorities begin fleeing across the border as Nehru and Patel confront the fallout from the partition. Punjab spirals into turmoil and terror, while Gandhi works desperately to protect Bengal from suffering a similar disaster. Amidst the turmoil, one refugee swears to take vengeance against the Mahatma.
