As a minister travels through Walnut Grove, Reverend Alden and Mr. Edwards become wary of him. Alden fears that the newcomer might entice his congregation away, while Edwards grows suspicious of the minister's frequent interactions with Mrs. Carter and Laura, leading him to believe there may be something more to their relationship.
