Momma Cherri's Soul Food Shack is in dire straits. This charming 40-seat eatery, just a short walk from the Brighton seafront, should be thriving, attracting both locals and tourists with its delicious Southern-inspired dishes crafted by owner Charita Jones. However, the reality is grim; despite three and a half years of relentless effort, the café is drowning in debt. With customers scarce and Head Chef Brian and a mismatched crew of part-timers slacking off, Charita finds herself with an empty restaurant and a staggering £65,000 owed to the bank.
