In a flashback, the iconic prospector shows up at the Ponderosa and takes part in the establishment of Virginia City. Interestingly, guest star Jack Carson previously portrayed a bank teller at the Comstock Bank and Trust in the 1942 movie "Gentleman Jim." This notable classic was the second episode ever filmed.
