S8E4 A Waltham Villa - Waltham Field, Whittington, Gloucestershire

Time Team aims to create a vivid portrayal of a family residing in a Roman villa in the Cotswolds nearly 2000 years ago. They choose to excavate a site near Fosse Way, just a few hundred meters from two previously uncovered villas, in a region rich with Roman artifacts. They enlist the expertise of Neil Holbrook, Roman specialist Richard Reece, and finds expert Alex Croom. Meanwhile, Phil assists Peter Reynolds in reconstructing a tribulum, a Roman threshing tool. The team concludes that the villa was constructed shortly after the Roman invasion but was likely abandoned soon after, possibly due to financial difficulties.
