Through various stories and teachings, Jesus guides Peter to understand the importance of forgiveness and how to manage his anger towards those who wrong him. Peter’s journey illustrates this vital lesson. While admiring his impressive haul of fish, two pushy tax collectors approach his boat, ridiculing his belief in Christ and announcing their intention to collect temple taxes the following day. In response to Peter's fury, Jesus encourages him to forgive the collectors and to cast his line into the sea. As predicted by Jesus, Peter successfully catches a fish.
