Harm and Mac delve into a "collateral damage" case in Afghanistan after an airstrike targeting an Al Qaeda operative results in the deaths of three innocent civilians. With assistance from forensic pathologist Cmdr. Teresa Coulter, they seek to determine whether any of the remains can be traced back to Al Qaeda leaders. In a twist of fate, Harm and Mac lose control of their Humvee and end up in a minefield, forcing them to spend the night together strategizing on how to escape the perilous situation.
