In Hudspeth County, Texas, Jarod assumes the role of a skydiving instructor as he investigates the mysterious death of a survivalist during his yearly desert excursion. During his stay, he encounters Ernie Two Feathers, a figure who might be a genuine spirit guide or just an illusion. At the same time, Miss Parker receives a birthday gift from Jarod that uncovers new details about her mother, prompting her to delve deeper into her past.
