McNulty struggles to move past his police career and focus on mending his marriage, ultimately deciding to stop searching for the identity of his Jane Doe. Meanwhile, the detectives investigating Sobotka uncover a significant pattern on the computer that they believe ties back to Daniels, but he remains hesitant to take on the murder cases. Sobotka, on the other hand, attempts to navigate the political landscape for the sake of his union.
