During the Governor's party, Benjo carries a bag that is to remain sealed until Mariano gives the go-ahead. Meanwhile, Leon has taken Benjo's family captive. As the evening unfolds, Benjo becomes sidetracked by the inebriated Dos. In his attempt to soothe her, he reflects on the circumstances that caused him to fall out of the Governor's good graces. Unbeknownst to him, Dos unzips the bag, revealing a bomb inside.
