After a former Marine who has transitioned into local politics gets involved in a scandal involving a 16-year-old runaway, Danny (Josh Duhamel) takes it upon himself to vindicate his friend. However, as he digs deeper, he uncovers unsettling truths that challenge his perceptions of those around him. In a parallel storyline, an ordinary man contemplates breaking free from his dull life in pursuit of a more extravagant lifestyle. Meanwhile, Ed (James Caan) stumbles upon a potential connection between Sam (Vanessa Marcil) and a significant drug trafficking operation.
