While shopping at the grocery store, Alan encounters a woman named Nancy who seems to check all his boxes, leaving Charlie to look after Jake. After spending a few days with Nancy, Alan contemplates proposing to her, which leads Charlie to attempt to dissuade him from making such a hasty decision. To bolster his argument, Charlie even enlists their mother's help in trying to steer Alan away from the idea.
