After discovering his wife, Jessica, in an embarrassing situation, aspiring comedian Pete suddenly finds himself homeless. Seeking refuge in a New York comedy club, he crosses paths with the jaded comedy icon Artie Lange. Though initially hesitant, Artie shares a slice of pizza, offers some life advice, and lets Pete crash on his couch, setting the stage for an unexpected friendship.
