Catherine, Warrick, and Nick discover the bodies of two women entombed in tar at a construction site. Their investigation leads them into the complex world of foreign "mail-order" brides. Tensions rise between Sara and Catherine, resulting in Ecklie suspending Sara for her insubordination towards both Catherine and him. Meanwhile, Sara confides in Grissom about the struggles of her childhood, revealing more about her past.
