Catherine, Nick, and Sara delve into the case of a body discovered in the mountains, which appears to have been there for months. As they uncover the man's identity, they find themselves drawn into the competitive realm of robot wars. Meanwhile, Warrick and Grissom are tasked with investigating a murder that took place in an alley. Their progress is hindered when the medical examiner misplaces the body for 11 days. To aid in the investigation, Greg steps in to conduct some undercover operations.
