S1E23 The Mysteries of Life

The friends learn that Ruff, their once fearsome pet, is locked away by the owner of a freak show. When the ringmaster declines to sell him, Iolaus and Hercules devise a plan to sneak in and rescue Ruff. Once freed, Ruff bolts into the streets, causing chaos and putting Corinth in jeopardy.
