As winter begins to settle in, Tom and Nancy grapple with the difficulties of solitude. Meanwhile, Jake embarks on a pronghorn antelope hunt and encounters a menacing rattlesnake. Eustace meets new neighbors and starts sharing his mountain man skills with them. Mike undertakes a risky sea expedition in hopes of discovering more fruitful hunting areas. At the same time, Martha challenges her off-road vehicle by navigating through the harshest landscapes of Alaska.
