Mayko Tran, a bioinformatics expert at NorBAC, alerts her colleagues to a troubling situation involving civilians recently returned from Iraq, all suffering from various unexplained ailments. Simultaneously, Carlos requests NorBAC's assistance in examining several hemophilia cases within a small Mexican community, where a significant multinational lab is engaged in GMO research. Additionally, Jill faces a challenge to her standing as a leading virologist when a research paper she authored is called into question, forcing her to defend her work and reputation.
