The Mandarin and Justin Hammer have seized control of Stark's satellites, deploying them to unleash chaos. At the same time, Modok manipulates Jim Rhodes, turning him against his allies. This results in an intense confrontation between Iron Man and War Machine, as former friends find themselves on opposite sides.
