Amy faces a difficult choice about whether to revoke the parental rights of a couple found guilty of child abuse. Meanwhile, Maxine's attitude irritates a building inspector, threatening the timely opening of Sanctuary House and jeopardizing crucial federal funding. Amy also struggles with feelings of jealousy regarding Lauren's close bond with Katie. In another twist, Donna makes the decision to divorce Oscar. Lastly, Bruce and his sister Winnie argue over the best living arrangement for their mother.
