As the war approaches its conclusion, nearly 2 million Germans in East Prussia rush to escape the advancing Red Army, which no longer differentiates between soldiers and civilians. Hundreds of thousands head towards the Baltic ports, marking the beginning of the largest evacuation of World War II.
