An old friend of Ryan's shows up in a panic, seeking assistance because her husband has become consumed by their new research project. At the laboratory, following a few experiments with lifeless items, Mitch, Ryan, and Ashley unexpectedly get caught in the beam, reminiscent of the 'Sliders' series, and must battle for their survival.
