Sue Sylvester kicks off the episode by revealing that it’s a Christmas special that FOX had previously banned from airing. The New Directions crew tries out for parts in McKinley’s living Nativity Scene. In the meantime, Rachel, Kurt, and Santana are busy in New York, taking on the roles of Santa's elves at a shopping mall.
