Isolated by her colleagues, she faces potential staff strikes unless she leaves. Unexpectedly, Marion steps in with her expertise in pharmaceuticals, uncovering that Baines is pretending to be unwell. This revelation clears Diana’s name, but Tom insists she apologize to Baines to remain in her position. Although aware of Baines' deception, he believes that this act of humility will benefit her in the long run.
