A stray hunting dog shows up at the McCoy ranch, prompting the owner, Joe Johnson, to come and retrieve him. Grampa sees an opportunity and attempts to strike a deal with Joe for the dog. However, Joe turns him down until Grampa offers to set him up on a date with Flora MacMichael.
