On February 8, 1977, Tony Kiritsis entered an office in downtown Indianapolis and attached a shotgun to mortgage broker Richard Hall’s head. His 40-minute 911 call fluctuated from calm politeness to furious outbursts and tears. As Kiritsis led Hall through the streets, a swarm of police and media trailed helplessly behind, unable to intervene.
