On October 8, 1983, the Van Heese family comes together to commemorate Michelle’s fifth birthday. As joyous festivities unfold, Michael McPherson documents the occasion with his brand-new camcorder. However, the celebration takes an unexpected turn when an alien invasion interrupts the cheerful gathering, transforming a day of laughter and cake into a fight for survival.
