The Ballad of Cable Hogue (1970)
Cable Hogue, abandoned in the arid desert and desperate for water, discovers a life-saving spring. Seizing the opportunity, he establishes a crucial rest stop along the stagecoach route, building a home and profiting from weary travelers. Hogue’s fortunes rise further when he forms a bond with Hildy, a local prostitute who moves in with him.
