Sam Lion, a circus-raised orphan, transitions into a businessman following a trapeze mishap. As he approaches fifty, the weight of his obligations and his strained relationship with his son, Jean-Philippe, prompts him to seek escape on the open sea. During his voyage, he unexpectedly encounters Albert Duvivier, a former employee, which stirs a deep reflection within him. Through this chance meeting, Sam begins to confront the reality that he has overlooked the true values and connections that define a fulfilling life.
